Massage Techniques

There are different techniques of massage to concentrate on different health issues. Also there are several techniques to help with mental and physical strain.

Swedish Massage

A basic massage that is a lighter touch that sooths and relaxes the superficial muscles.

Deep Tissue Massage

This massage concentrates on individual muscles which is a harder deeper impact. Although this massage can be difficult to handle it has a beneficial outcome for the body.

Prenatal Massage

This massage is lighter and helps fatigued muscles during pregnancy. Relaxing during pregnancy helps the overall outlook and preparation for labor.

Infant Massage

A massage to bring a closer bond to the infant and parent using a variety of techniques.

Reflexology

Reflexology uses pressure points in the feet and hands restoring the body's natural healing and healthy balance.

Cranial Sacral

A rhythmic fluid called cerebral spinal fluid flows from the cranial to the sacrum. Over a period of time the rhythm becomes broken, there are pressure points to get the rhythm going again.

Rolfing

Dr. Ida Rolf believed the body should be looked at like a complete unit. Sometimes a problem with the shoulder could be caused by the knee or ankle. To put the body back into alignment you can manipulate the causing muscle.

Trigger point Therapy

Stress and strain due to over stretching to a muscle causes damaging results to the muscles with a build up of tissue called trigger points. These trigger points are commonly called "knots." Firm pressure is applied to the trigger point and then is massaged to relieve the area.
